KELOWNA - Sell and buy used hockey equipment and support a great cause at West Kelowna’s annual Hockey Equipment Swap at Ultimate Hockey and Skate from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14.

Please drop off equipment for sale between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 11 and 12, at Ultimate Hockey, 2484 Main Street.

Sixty per cent of the equipment’s sale price will go to the seller and 40 per cent will support West Kelowna’s KidSport™ chapter. Sellers are asked to return between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on August 14, to pick up proceeds from the sale of their equipment and collect any unsold items.

KidSport has local chapters across Canada. The charitable program is based on a philosophy that children whose parents cannot afford registration fees should not be left to watch from the sidelines, and that all kids should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports.

West Kelowna can provide grants for children, ages 18 and under, to help parents cover some of the costs of registration fees for a chosen sport. One application per child may be submitted each year.

For more information on West Kelowna’s KidSport program, please call 778-797-8800; or, go online at at the City of Kelowna website.
