KAMLOOPS — A 63-year-old woman and her three dogs are back home and safe today after getting lost on a routine walk.
RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Cheryl Bush said the woman left the Duffy Lake campground around 1 p.m. yesterday. When she didn't return, her boyfriend reported her missing. RCMP, along with police dogs and quads were joined by rescue volunteers who searched through the night. An RCMP helicopter was used this morning and spotted her white shirt against the dense brush and based on sporadic cell phone contact. They got her out around 9 a.m. today.
Police estimate she walked 12 kms as she became disoriented.
