CANOE - Another section of Highway 1 is closed now, not long after the area at the Eagle River bridge opened to one lane alternating traffic.
Drivebc.ca is reporting the area five kilometres east of Canoe has been shut down in both directions because of a vehicle accident. A detour via 97B and 97A is available.
An accident last night forced the closure at the Eagle River bridge, 20 km east of Sicamous. A truck burst into flames as a result of the four vehicle collision. The Ministry of Transportation is assessing the integrity of the bridge.
