VERNON - Heartland actor Graham Wardle won't be riding a horse into Vernon, as the show's fans might expect; he'll be cruising on his motorcycle in the name of prostate cancer.
The Canadian television star co-founded Cruise With a Cause, a cross-province motorcycle marathon and fundraiser promoting the importance of getting tested for prostate cancer.
Wardle was joined by fellow actors Amber Marshall, Kerry James, Cindy Busby and Alisha Newton from CBC's Heartland at a celebrity meet-and-greet in Vancouver last Saturday, which marked the beginning of the event.
Wardle will cruise into the Vernon Bannister Honda dealership Wednesday from noon until 2 p.m.
The event will feature live music by One Bullet Down and a barbeque.
The riders will be cruising into Kelowna afterwards, with their next meet-and-greet at the Sandman Hotel in Kelowna from 5-7 p.m.
