VERNON - The section of Highway 6 on the way to the Needles ferry dock closed for repairs following a mud slide and the appearance of a sink hole over a month ago ihas reopened.

The Ministry of Transportation says the work on the new drainage installation and rebuilding of the section of road about a kilometre west of Lower Arrow Lake wrapped up last night, March 27.

The reopening had been put off a couple of times this past week.

Drivers have been forced to follow a pilot car along the Barnes Forest Service Road detour while repairs were made.

On Feb. 18, the mudslide, and subsequent sinkhole, closed the route.
