Handguns stolen in break and enter

KAMLOOPS - RCMP say two handguns were among items stolen in two residential break and enters last night.

The first was in Sedona Pines but it appears the thieves were scared off by a security system around 9:20 p.m. The second was on Arrowstone Drive where the owners of the home were out for the evening. Thieves made off with electronics, jewelry, identification and two registered handguns. Witnesses said a man was going door to door in Sedona prior to either break in, according to police spokesperson Cpl. Cheryl Bush.

"The investigations are in the early stages and at this point we cannot say the two incidents are related," Bush says. "However the message to residents is the same, please report any suspicious activity to police."

Anyone who may have had an unknown man come to their door or witnessed anything suspicious should call Kamloops Detachment at (250) 828-3000.
