VERNON - RCMP have taken down a large grow-op as the result of an investigation that began in the city over the summer.

A search warrant was executed Dec. 19 on a house and property buildings in the 1800 block of Wallace Road. The suspects weren't home at the time. About 1400 plants were found, and approximately 13 pounds of packaged marijuana.

As well, a stolen Yamaha WR250X motorcycle was recovered, found inside a large barn.

B.C. Hydro was alerted of a electricity bypass they believe was the source of power for the grow operation. Police say buildings on the property were contaminated with various chemicals used to sustain the grow operation.
