KELOWNA - The City of Kelowna election office has re-launched kelowna.ca/election along with the hashtag #kelownavotes on social media.

New for the 2014 General Local Election, the City has developed a free mobile app that is accessed at kelowna.ca/election and works on all mobile devices.

“The City is providing a one-stop site for residents of Kelowna to access voting information,” says Chief Election Officer Karen Needham. “The mobile app is a convenient way to keep residents informed throughout the election period, including links to the list of candidates, voting days and locations, and the results on election night.”

The City’s two other apps — one for service requests and one for YLW flight information — have proven popular.

Residents can also e-Subscribe to receive timely email election updates.

The General Local Election is set for Saturday, Nov. 15 to elect a Mayor and eight Councillors to the City of Kelowna City Council and four Trustees to the Board of Education, School District No. 23.
