VERNON - Boating, floating, sunbathing and pizza? One of these things is not like the other, but 'Floating for a Cause' is changing that.

Starting July 1, a group of local businesses will be cruising Vernon lakes on a pontoon boat, serving pizza by donation.

All proceeds are going to local charities with funds going to Upper Room Mission in July and Women’s Transition House in August.

Confirmed dates on Kalamalka Lake are:

  • July 2, 3, 12 with a Live Sun FM broadcast from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., 16, 24, 31
  • Aug. 5 with a Live Sun FM broadcast from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., 13, 14, 21, 28
  • Sept. 4

Bannister Honda and Papa Murphy’s Take ’N’ Bake Pizza are joining 105.7 Sun FM for the fundraiser.
