LAKE COUNTRY – RCMP from Kelowna and Lake Country were called to a trailer park off Highway 97 last night when a man was assaulted with a flare gun.

Shortly before 9 p.m., Aug. 1, police from two detachments arrived at a home on the border of Kelowna and Lake Country and determined an “altercation” took place between two men, which “resulted in one man being struck once with a signal flare projectile and a second time with an unknown object," RCMP Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says.

O’Donaghey says a man in his 30s was treated by B.C. Ambulance paramedics for injuries but released at the scene.

“The victim along with several other witnesses at the scene were not forthcoming with investigators,” he says. “RCMP believe this to be an isolated incident and the public is not at any risk.”

O’Donaghey did not say if any arrests were made.
