PENTICTON - Penticton firefighters spent a hot afternoon battling a fire on Front Street today.

Penticton Deputy Fire Chief Chris Forester said in a release Sunday evening, May 28, firefighters were called to the Ginza Japanese Restaurant on Front Street for a structure fire.

The fire started in the kitchen area and caused a considerable amount of fire and smoke damage.

The restaurant was closed when the fire broke out.

Forester says the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
