CIS Roundup: O'Connor and Pinto combine for three TDs in 53-50 win

VANCOUVER - Michael O'Connor hit Trivel Pinto for a 35-yard touchdown pass in the fourth overtime on Friday as the UBC Thunderbirds beat the Manitoba Bisons 53-50 in CIS football action.

O'Connor finished the game 28-of-49 passing for 463 yards and four touchdowns, including three to Pinto, and two interceptions. Pinto had 10 catches for 245 yards while Ben Cummings rushed for 246 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries for the Thunderbirds (2-2).

Receiver Will Watson had the other touchdown for UBC. Kicker Greg Hutchings hit three of his four field-goal attempts.

Manitoba kicker Brad Mikoluff made his fourth field goal of the game to make it 50-47 Bisons (2-3) before O'Connor hit Pinto for the winning catch.

Quarterback Theo Deezar went 33 for 48 for 368 yards with five TDs and three picks for Manitoba.

Despite the two teams combining for 103 points, neither side held a lead of more than seven points.
