TORONTO - The Montreal Carabins leapfrogged archrival Laval on Tuesday to move into top spot in this week's U Sports football rankings.
Montreal (2-0) received 17 of 18 first-place votes and 161 points from the Football Reporters of Canada panel to knock the Rouge et Or (2-1) into second spot, U Sports said in a release. The Carabins defeated the Rouge et Or 21-16 last weekend.
The Calgary Dinos (2-0) remained in third position and the Western Mustangs (3-0) held steady in fourth. The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (2-0) rose one position to fifth.
The top 10 is rounded out by the Regina Rams (1-1), Saskatchewan Huskies (2-0), Ottawa Gee-Gees (3-0), McMaster Marauders (1-1) and UBC Thunderbirds (1-1).
