PENTICTON - If you've never checked out local drifters at Penticton Speedway, the guys at DriftUnion have put together video footage from the first round of the 2014 Drift Days on May 24.
Shawn Browne, Drift event coordinator, has organized Drift Days for the last six years. It’s a chance for local drivers to participate safely in the increasingly popular sport, he said.
A second round will be held July 20, and a final round Oct. 20.
But the biggest drifting event is coming up this month: DriftUnion Invitational held June 28 and 29 at Penticton Speedway. Browne said there are 50 registered drivers participating in the event, some coming from as far away as Chicago, Illinois.
This event is “definitely the one to come watch,” Browne said of the family oriented event.
