PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP responded to a shooting in the city overnight.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says officers responded to a domestic incident on Carmi Avenue last night, June 21, after reports of a shot fired.

Wrigglesworth says a woman in the residence was able to leave the building without injury. A man inside refused to respond to police and the Emergency Response Team attended.

Police were able to make contact with the man this morning and he was taken into custody safely, he says.

Wrigglesworth says the scene has been secured pending police securing a search warrant.

The man is expected to make a court appearance tomorrow.
