KELOWNA - Police are heating up an investigation into a Saturday morning convenience store robbery by releasing surveillance video images of the two male suspects.
The robbery was reported to police just before 1 a.m. Feb. 1, having just occurred at the Mac's Convenience store at 1014 Glenmore Road. RCMP Const. Kris Clark says two men entered the store with their faces covered and one threatened the clerk with a golf club while the other emptied the contents of a store shelf display case into a garbage bag.
Both suspects fled on foot toward Calmert Crescent and a police service dog was able to find a track, but the suspects weren't found.
Though nobody was hurt and no cash was taken, the store lost $500 worth of product.
As the investigation continues, police are working to figure out if the Mac's robbery and the robbery at Liquids liquor store on Saturday night are related.
The first suspect is described as Caucasian, 5'11" to 6" tall and slim. This person was wearing a light coloured scarf over the face, possibly in a camouflage pattern, a dark coloured baseball cap with a large white cartoon-like emblem on the front, dark coloured hooded winter coat with light stripes running from the neck area to the armpits, dark/light coloured gloves, dark jeans and was carrying a garbage bag.
The second suspect is described as Causasian, 5'7" to 5'8" and slim. This person was wearing a black balaclava covering the face, a dark coloured hooded 3/4 length winter coat, dark gloves, dark skinny jeans and carrying a golf club.
