NARAMATA - Motorists driving to Naramata will be subject to a detour following the start of construction on the Naramata Water System Rehabilitation Project this week.

The construction is underway and is expected to last until the end of November resulting in a detour within the construction area on Naramata Road, according to a Regional District media release.

The detour will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday, and requires the following traffic movements:

  • Northbound passenger vehicles take the detour
  • Southbound traffic and northbound commercial vehicles are to take Naramata Road
  • All businesses within the construction area are open and accessible from the north side of the construction area.
  • Please obey all flag persons.

Delays are anticipated to be at least 10 minutes in duration, the District says. Pedestrian and cyclist traffic will be assisted through the construction zone in either direction by traffic control personnel.
