KELOWNA – The cause of an excavator fire in the Black Mountain area early this morning is under investigation.

Kelowna fire crews were dispatched to the excavator fire at about 4 a.m., June 4, in the 1600-block of Swainson Road and arrived to find it fully involved, according to Kelowna Fire Department Platoon Capt. Eric Simpson in a media release.

The blaze, which was quickly knocked down, didn’t spread to buildings or other property, Simpson says.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the RCMP.
