KAMLOOPS - Country star Dallas Smith and the CP Holiday Train will be lighting up Kamloops this evening.

The train will arrive in Chase just before 3 p.m. on today, Dec. 15, before making its way to downtown Kamloops at 5 p.m.. Dallas Smith and Odds will perform from 5:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. when the train heads to Savona and Ashcroft.

Donations will be accepted for the Kamloops Food Bank.

Smith is excited to be able to help local charities, according to a CP media release.

"Being able to help local food banks across the country is something I'm excited to be a part of," Smith says in the release. "I've toured Canada many times but not like this. I can't wait for this amazing experience to begin."

Odds are a Vancouver-based band, who say their connection to local communities is important, especially around the holidays.

Admission to the event is by donation and every pound of food and every dollar raised goes to the local food bank.
