KELOWNA - A weekend ahead showcasing antique and collectible cars all polished up to raise money for local children. Cops for Kids have partnered with Trucks Plus once again to host a full weekend of events for car enthusiasts and families, with all proceeds to directly assist children in crisis.
Saturday, May 28, cars will be participating in a lake-side cruise and lunch including some local attractions and sights of the Okanagan. For many of the cars attending from out of town, it’s a taste of the Okanagan while taking in the views and tastes of our region.
Saturday evening, the group is hosting a steak & seafood dinner/dance at the Kelowna and District Fish & Game Club for the Wine’n Dine portion of the weekend. The evening will feature the steak & seafood buffet, silent auctions, sips from local wineries & breweries, and dancing to the music of 2015 BC CMA Nominee Andrew Christopher and Big Shiny.
On Sunday, May 29, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Show’n Shine will showcase trucks, cars, motorcycles, and boats on display for families to view with a silent auction supporting Cops for Kids. Admission is free, and all are welcome to come to McCurdy Corner at the corner of Highway 97 and McCurdy Road to check out the displays.
“We’re very excited to partner with Trucks Plus on this event again this year,” said rider and event co-organizer Cst. Fred Arnold. “Incorporating cars on display for families to come and enjoy is a great partnership with Trucks Plus. These folks are truly helping us make a difference to local children.”
Cops for Kids fundraise throughout the year to support ongoing requests for families in crisis. For more information or to make a donation, please visit the website at www.copsforkids.org like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.
