KAMLOOPS - A truck theft had police swarming the area near Cottonwood Drive today.

After receiving a tip that a man was seen driving a truck stolen from the Kamloops North Shore area, police from around the city joined forces to locate the vehicle and driver.

The truck was found 15 minutes later but an attempt to locate the driver failed.

Police are looking for a 25 to 30-year-old Caucasian man with a dark beard. He may have been carrying a sac or bag with him.

Mounties seized the stolen vehicle and will search it for evidence.

The investigation is ongoing.
