Cops For Kids Fund Raiser a Success in Lake Country

Lake Country - On Saturday June 1st, 2013 Lake Country RCMP Cst. Steve James in partnership with the Cooper's Foods in Lake Country hosted a fund raising B.B.Q. and Silent Auction to raise money to support the Cops for Kids Charitable Foundation.

Cops for Kids are dedicated RCMP members and support people of the RCMP that are committed to assisting children that are in medical, physical or traumatic crisis within the Southern Interior Region of British Columbia. This signature event, the Cops for Kids Ride, is set to take place this September 6th thru September 15th, 2013.

2013 Cops for Kids rider, Cst. Steve James of the Lake Country RCMP Detachment was on hand at Cooper's Foods serving up hot dogs, bags of chips and beverages and hosting a silent auction with all the proceeds raised going to support the Cops for Kids Charitable Foundation.

"This will be my third year on the Cops for Kids Ride," said Cst. James "and I think this is a way for me to do my part to make a difference in the lives of children facing challenges in our community. To see first hand the impact each community has made on each Little Ambassador has been an incredible experience."

"A total of $823.75 was raised" said Cst. James "I would like to thank the members of the community who came out and donated. I would also like to thank our sponsors which included Coopers Foods, Schneiders, Pepsi, Gray Monk Winery, Tim Horton's Restaurant, L'Isola Bella Bistro, Chantana's Thai Restaurant and Lake Country Cycle."
