ENDERBY — A construction mishap at the Enderby Super Save Gas Station Thursday afternoon could have been a lot worse.
The station's main building burned down last fall, and construction is now underway for its replacement. Const. Robb Daly says RCMP responded to a report of an accident at the construction site early Thursday afternoon.
A piece of equipment being moved by the crane was let go, and a worker had to make a quick leap to get out of the way. In the process, he slipped and fell, sustaining minor injuries.
B.C. Ambulance was on scene, patching the man up, but Daly says no transport was needed.
Because the accident occurred at a work site, Daly says the investigation will fall in the lap of WorkSafe B.C.
"The guy gets to go home to his family, that's the important thing," Daly says.
