Constituency offices shut down following Ottawa shooting

KELOWNA - It appears the constituency offices of Members of Parliament across the country have been shut down following events in Ottawa this morning, including local MP Ron Cannan's.

Cannan's Capri Mall office was dark this morning after a gunman opened fire at Parliament Hill. Cannan, MP for Kelowna-Lake Country, was in Ottawa at a morning caucus meeting when the shots were fired. It's unclear if this was in response to the shooting at Parliament Hill but in Kamloops, the MP's office was open this morning before it was closed abruptly at 11:45 a.m.

A gunman shot a soldier at the National War Memorial at close range this morning then injured a security guard at Parliament Hill before being shot dead.
