PENTICTON - It’s time for a new season to start, and with that comes a new recreation guide, therefore the Community Centre is offering free classes and programs next week.
Try It For Free Week is scheduled for Sept. 8 to 14. People can try different recreation and aqua fitness programs, including Zumba, yoga and Chi Gong for free. The fitness room, stacked with weights and cardio machines, is also available for free use that week.
To celebrate the free week, the community centre is offering a special 20-20 promotion with special prices on four-month fitness memberships until Sept. 20.
“Try It For Free Week is a great way to sample recreation programs before registering,” Mayor Garry Litke said in a media release.
“The new Recreation Guide encourages all residents to embrace an active life and supports their recreational pursuits with more information and resources,” General manager of recreation and facilities Chuck Loewen said. “We encourage everyone to give programs a test run.”
The new guide includes new programs for children, pickle ball programs for adults, public skating schedules and Baby Bug and Junior Bug classes for kids ages 0-5. The guide also includes children, youth, adult and fitness programs, skating lessons, drop-in sports schedules, aquatic fitness and more.
