Community Centre offers alternatives for parents of school-aged children

The Penticton Community Centre will offer alternatives like day camps and youth drop-in sessions to help parents who are looking for alternatives during any potential school disruptions in the coming weeks.

The next scheduled date is Wednesday, June 11. Day Camp will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and full-day activities organized by Day Camp leaders include swimming, games, crafts, sports and outdoor fun.

The cost is $27 per child. Before- and after-camp care will be provided for parents needing flexible schedules. Before Keeners (8 to 9 a.m.) and After Camp Keeners (4 to 5 p.m.) are available for $5 per session. There is limited space available, so please register ASAP.

There are options for teens (13 to 18 years) as well with youth drop-in gym time from 8:30 to10:30 a.m. or 1 to 3 p.m. for $4 per person. Half of the gymnasium will be available for drop-in gym time for youth to shoot hoops or start up an informal game.

Additional day camps and activities will be offered as the need arises due to school closures. To register or find out availability, please visit the Penticton Community Centre or phone 250-490-2426.
