The Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan will be brightening up Kelowna and Big White this holiday season.

The caravan is the public's chance to meet Santa and three of his elves as they travel across Canada in a decorative transport truck.

There will be free samples and games to play. Those who take selfies with the caravan can share them online with the hashtag #CokeCaravan.

The caravan will be stopping in Kelowna at the FreshCo on Highway 97 on Dec. 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

It will be in Big White on Dec. 20 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The Coca-Cola crew also paid a visit to Kelowna yesterday, Dec. 9. They will be making 11 more stops in B.C. this year however they are all in the Lower Mainland.

According to the company, Santa's persona as a "warm, happy character with human features, including rosy cheeks, a white beard, twinkling eyes and laughter lines" came from a Coca-Cola advertising campaign in 1931. The ads were illustrated by Haddon Sundblom, who was inspired by the classic poem 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.
