City of West Kelowna offices closed for Christmas

The City of West Kelowna’s administrative buildings will close for the holidays at 3 p.m. Christmas Eve, December 24 and reopen by 8:30 a.m. Monday, January 4. Essential services will be provided, some recreational facilities will be open with adjusted schedules and curbside collection of waste will continue as usual. During the closure, the public can call 778-797-1000 for a list of available service options during the holidays.

Holiday closures apply to Municipal Hall at 2760 Cameron Road, West Kelowna Fire Rescue administration at 2708 Olalla Road, the Operations Building on Elliott Road and the Utilities Building on Bartley Road.

Essential services that will be provided over the holidays include cemetery, drainage, sewer and water emergencies, fire and rescue services, policing and roads maintenance.

Various recreational programs will also be running throughout the holidays at facilities including Jim Lind Arena, Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre, Royal LePage Place and Webber Road Community Centre. Curbside collection of waste will continue as usual in the City of West Kelowna on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the holidays; please see the Living Greener calendar, at www.westkelownacity.ca/livinggreenercalendar, to determine dates for collection of garbage only and pick up of both garbage and recycling. The Westside Residential Waste Disposal and Recycling Centre on Asquith Road will be closed on Christmas Day, Friday, December 25 and New Year’s Day, Friday, January 1. The facility will be open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on December 26, 27 and 28 and January 2, 3 and 4. Christmas trees can be dropped off at the centre.
