Changes to Holiday Garbage and Recycling Collection

With Christmas Day and New Year’s Day falling on Wednesday this year, pick- up schedule for your garbage and recycling will jump one day ahead for both of those weeks.

For example, if your regular collection day is Wednesday, your garbage will be picked up on Thursday instead. If your regular collection is Thursday, your pickup will take place on Friday, and if your regular pickup is Friday, your collection will take place on Saturday for the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s only. Monday and Tuesday collection days are not affected, only residents with collection Wednesday  through Friday are affected. All collections return to the normal Monday through Friday schedule on Monday, January 6th 2014.

Please place your garbage and recycling carts at the curb by 7 a.m. and ensure the lids are completely closed.

Recycling:
Remember to put all wrapping paper (except foil), flattened boxes and cartons into your recycling cart for curbside pick- up, or take to your nearest recycling depot. Keep the recycling spirit going by saving all shiny and foil wrapping paper and cards, ribbons and bows for re-use.
