Car fire prompts quick response from firefighters

Penticton Fire and Rescue douse a burning Jeep Cherokee Laredo on Padmore Avenue East Wednesday afternoon.

UPDATE 2:18 p.m., July 31, 2013

PENTICTON - Firefighters doused a burning Jeep Cherokee Laredo on Padmore Avenue East Wednesday afternoon.

Four firefighters responded to a report of flames and smoke coming from the parked vehicle. Traffic was blocked on Padmore Avenue East and slowed on downtown Main Street while responders dealt with the problem. No injuries were reported.

PENTICTON - Firefighters and RCMP are on the scene of a car fire on Padmore Avenue East.

Four firefighters responded to a report of flames and smoke coming from a Jeep parked at the side of the road. While the fire appears to be out, Padmore Avenue is still blocked as RCMP and the fire crew inspect the vehicle.
