NARAMATA - A boil water notice has been issued for Naramata.

Rapid snowmelt, warmer temperatures and some heavy recent rains have caused increased turbidity in Okanagan Lake over the past few days.

The Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen has issued a boil water notice for the entire Naramata water system as a result.

The notice was issued today, May 8, and remains in effect until further notice.

Residents are advised to use a safe alternate source of water, or to boil water for at least one minute before using it for drinking, oral hygiene and food preparation.

For more information contact the regional district public works department at 250-490-4106.
