Friday, September 6, 2013 vs. Kelowna Rockets – 4-0 Loss

The Blazers couldn’t get on the scoreboard, while the Rockets were led by veterans Tyson Baillie and Rourke Chartier in a 4-0 home ice loss. Baillie and Chartier combined for three goals and five points in the game. Taran Kozun went the distance in goal making 36 saves for the Blazers. Click here for Recap.

Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Vancouver Giants – 5-1 Loss

The Blazers created scoring chances but ran into a hot goaltender in a 5-1 loss to the Vancouver Giants in WHL preseason action. Landon Cross had the lone goal for the Blazers. Cole Kehler stopped 19 of 21 shots in the first half of the game, while Taran Kozun made four saves on seven shots. Click here for Recap.

Grist Joins Sharks at Young Stars Tournament

Sam Grist was a late replacement for the San Jose Sharks at the Young Stars Tournament held in Penticton, BC.  The tournament also included rookie teams from the Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames and Winnipeg Jets. Grist will rejoin the Blazers on Monday.

Cole Ully (Dallas Stars) and Tim Bozon (Montreal Canadiens) are still away at their respective rookie camps. Ully has been with the Stars at the Traverse City, Michigan tournament.

Familiar faces that have been at NHL camps and are preparing for their pro seasons include Colin Smith (Colorado), JC Lipon (Winnipeg), Joel Edmundson (St. Louis), Kale Kessy (Edmonton), Brendan Ranford (Dallas), and Chase Schaber (Edmonton).
