Blazers sign Ludwar and Mahovlich

Scott Mahovlich, of Abbotsford B.C., had three goals and nine points in 33 games with Yale Hockey Academy’s Midget Prep Team. He was originally listed by the Blazers in January 2015.

KAMLOOPS - The Kamloops Blazers have announced that they have signed 1999-born defenseman Tylor Ludwar and 1999-born forward Scott Mahovlich to WHL standard player agreements. 

Ludwar is from Regina, Sask. He played last season with the Regina Pat Canadians of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League. In 40 games, he had seven goals, nine assists and 16 points. He was listed by the Blazers in November 2014.

“Tylor has performed well at camp,” Matt Recchi Director of Player Personnel, said. “He is a smart and steady two-way defenseman. We look forward to watching him play in the preseason.”

Mahovlich is from Abbotsford, B.C. and played last season with Yale Hockey Academy’s Midget Prep Team. In 33 games, he had three goals and nine points. He was originally listed by the Blazers in January 2015.

“Scott has continued to improve,” Recchi said. “He is a competitive and physical player that continues to get stronger. We believe he can develop into an effective two-way center for our hockey club.”

The Kamloops Blazers open the 2016 WHL Preseason at home on Friday, Sept. 2 against the Victoria Royals. Tickets to all WHL Preseason games can be purchased at the Kamloops Blazers Box Office.

Prices are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $8 for youth.
