KAMLOOPS - There is one winning ticket for the $50-million jackpot in Friday night’s Lotto Max draw — and it was purchased somewhere in British Columbia.

The giant jackpot had gone unclaimed for four previous draws. The win ties the largest lottery prize ever won in B.C.

The winner hasn't come forward yet. They have a year to do so.

According to the B.C. Lottery Corporation, there were 50 MaxMillions prizes of $1-million each up for grabs Friday night, and claims are being made on 17 of them.

Two of the MaxMillion prizes were sold in B.C. A ticket sold in Surrey won $1 million and another in Port Alberni will claim $333,333.40, sharing the win with two other tickets.

A ticket holder in the Malahat-Juan de Fuca region of Vancouver Island said 'Yes' to the Extra and the winner will claim $500,000 after matching all four numbers on the same draw.

You can check the lotto numbers at the BCLC website.

The jackpot for next Friday's draw will be approximately $43-million.
