VERNON - The Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre proudly presents the Arts Club Theatre Company’s production Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, 7:30 p.m. at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre. Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery is the first performance in the Society’s 2016/17 Theatre series.

Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery is a fast-paced farcical comedy starring everyone’s favorite detective. Five actors play over 40 comical characters, filling the stage with suspects, allies, and heirs in this zany whodunit based on the Arthur Conan Doyle classic. When the wealthy Henry Baskerville is threatened by the fable of a bloodthirsty hound on the moors, Holmes and Watson are on the case to sniff out the culprit.

Arts Club Theatre, who recently brought us Avenue Q, Buddy, and Boeing Boeing, is the largest theatre company in Western Canada. Each year, over a quarter of a million people experience the best in professional theatre on Arts Club’s tours throughout the province and at their three venues: the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage, Granville Island Stage, and Goldcorp Stage at the BMO Theatre Centre.

This Sherlock Holmes Mystery is right at home among playwright Ken Ludwig’s acclaimed credits including Lend Me A Tenor, which won two Tony Awards of the seven it was nominated for and the Washington Post called it "one of the classic comedies of the 20th century."

Additional credits include: Crazy For You (5 years on Broadway and the West End, Tony and Olivier Award Winner for Best Musical), Moon Over Buffalo (Broadway and West End), The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (Broadway), Treasure Island (West End), Twentieth Century (Broadway),Leading Ladies, Shakespeare in Hollywood, The Fox on the Fairway, The Three Musketeers and The Beaux’ Stratagem.

The game’s afoot in this murderously delightful thriller that’s anything but elementary!
