Back-to-back shutout victories for Okanagan Rockets

KELOWNA – The Okanagan Rockets picked up a couple of shutout victories against the Kootenay Ice over the weekend.

Starting with Sunday October 20th, the Rockets made it look easy as they dominated the Ice 12 – 0 for the weekend sweep.

Tanner Campbell posted his 1st career hat-trick plus added two assists for a 5 point day.  Linden Hora and Tyson Jost both added two goals in the lopsided victory.

During Saturday’s match-up, the Okanagan Rockets cruised to a 6 – 0 shut out victory over the Kootenay Ice.

The Rockets had an incredible 68 shots on goal compared to the 13 for the Ice.

Brett Young picked up to goals in the victory while Tyson Jost and Jake Kryski, both bound for Team BC at the end of the month, each chipped in with two assists.

During the course of the weekend, the Rockets outscored the Ice 18 – 0 and out shot the team 125 – 27 over the two games.

Reid Kilburn recorded back-to-back shutout victories and improved to 4 – 1 on the season with a 1.80 goals against average.

The Okanagan Rockets have now shutout the Kootenay Ice in 7 straight games.  The Ice last scored on the Rockets back on January 7th of 2012.

The Okanagan Rockets currently sit 7 – 1 – 0 on the season.  The team is back in action next weekend with games slated against the North Island Silvertips at Capital News Centre.  Games are set for 3PM on Saturday and 10AM on Sunday.
