VERNON - There’s plenty of fall fun to be had this weekend.
With above normal temperatures and the promise of sun, it’s a prime weekend to enjoy the Okanagan’s spectacular outdoors.
Davison Orchards is hosting the Family Pumpkin Festival Saturday and Sunday. Try pumpkin fudge, pick out the perfect pumpkin, or just stroll around the farm. Be sure to bring some change, as some of the activities have an admission fee.
Halloween has arrived at the O’Keefe Ranch Corn Maze where the Okanagan Science Centre and O’Keefe Ranch have partnered up for a not so spooky spook-tacular event! For children or the faint of heart, join in on Family Daze where you’ll hear screams of delight, not fright. Get in on the Halloween experience during the light of day, while the actors are out and hands-on activities, demonstrations, animal visits, and hay rides are happening. Get your hands dirty and discover the creepy crawly side of compost, and create ‘ghost eggs’, instant gooey worms, and more. Family Daze admission is $8 + GST and $25 + GST for a family (up to six members).
Saturday night at O’Keefe Ranch is a spooktacular affair. The third annual Paranormal Halloween features demonstrations, a haunted mansion, ghost and cemetery tours, and a hay ride (weather permitting). Tickets available online at www.okeeferanch.ca or call the Ranch. $25 + GST per person, $40 + GST per couple. Remember your flashlight and digital camera.
Indoor entertainment is in no short supply with a comedy cabaret at the Schubert Centre, the Ultimate Comedy Show at the Performing Arts Centre, and live music at several local restaurants, including Los Huesos, Checkers Bar and Grill, and The Green.
