PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP are looking for a suspect who has been preying upon apartment laundry rooms in Penticton's southend.

RCMP spokesman Cpl.Ted Manchulenko says the thieves have been victimizing apartment blocks in the south Skaha Lake Road area, breaking into washing machine coin boxes.

The latest was on March 9 when laundry machines at 139 Skaha Place were damaged after someone attempted to break into the coin boxes.

“We are actively in the process of searching for a couple of suspects that are on our radar,” Manchulenko says, adding no arrests have been made yet.

One of the suspects is described as a Caucasian man in his early 20s, about 5'8" tall with a thin build and bad acne.

Manchulenko says in many cases the only thing thieves achieved was damage to the machines, as building staff are aware of the issue and emptying the coin boxes on a regular basis.
