The Office of the City Clerk validated the results of the Alternate Approval Process for the new Kelowna Police Services Building and related project work.
This Alternative Approval Process to borrow $42,384,000 to construct a new Police Services Building and perform other related site work received an insufficient number of petitions opposing the project.
The number of petitioners opposed to the agreement was 198 or about 0.2 per cent of electors. This is below the 10 per cent of electors (9,484 residents) required to defeat the borrowing bylaw.
The Alternative Approval Processes concluded at 4 p.m. today.
City Council will receive a Certificate of Sufficiency for the process on Monday, March 31, during the afternoon Council meeting. The sufficiency reports are available online at kelowna.ca/council.
