KAMLOOPS - An all-female physical fitness competition is coming to Kamloops to test the limits of women in the city.

Femsport, a Canadian event founded in 2001, aims to challenge female athletes and non-athletes to test their strength, agility, power, endurance and speed.

The competition will be held in Kamloops on May 27 and will test women on their abilities in events like an obstacle course, tire drag, kettlebell lifts, pushing cars and more.

"It’s not only about winning, it’s about participating in a competition where everyone is a champion," according to the event's Facebook page.

Athletes can register for the event, held at Sahali Mall, here. Spectators are able to watch the competition for free.

You can register as an individual participant, or register with other women as a team. Either way, you can choose the competition level most suited to you, whether it's novice level for first-time competitors, open level for any competitor, or masters level for competitors aged 40 or older.

Femsport has been taking place in Kamloops since 2009. Two Femsport events are held across the province each year. The spring one is held in Kamloops while the fall event is held in Vancouver.

For more information on the event, you can visit the Femsport Kamloops Facebook event page.
