KAMLOOPS - Kamloops RCMP have arrested an Alberta man after he was found to have stolen two vehicles and other property.
Yesterday evening, July 21, police received reports of suspicious activities involving a black Dodge pickup truck with Alberta license plates in the parking lot of the Petro Canada gas station off Copperhead Drive, Kamloops RCMP say in a release.
That's where officers recovered a stolen travel trailer.
Mounties later observed the same truck travelling eastbound on Highway 1 in the Valleyview area.
The vehicle was followed to Dallas Drive when the driver attempted to evade police by ducking into a private driveway and abandoning the vehicle, according to police.
At 12:55 a.m. this morning, July 22, Kamloops RCMP officers with the assistance of a police service dog located and arrested a 47-year-old Alberta man.
A loaded 12 gauge sawed off shotgun was located and seized. The pickup truck stolen from Wetaskiwin, Alberta was recovered along with several items which police suspect is stolen property.
Kamloops RCMP are still investigating.
