Accident near Salmon Arm sends one to hospital

SALMON ARM - An accident at the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 97B near Salmon Arm sent one person to hospital yesterday.

A westbound car on Highway 1 turned to go south on Highway 97B when it collided with an eastbound SUV pulling a boat at 3:55 p.m. Aug. 22, according to a police press release. The SUV and boat overturned while the turning car was damaged.

The driver of the SUV was treated at the scene. The driver of the turning car was sent to the hospital in Salmon Arm with what are likely to be non life-threatening injuries. Police, fire and ambulance services attended the scene.

The RCMP are investigating the incident.
