A Royal Affair fundraiser channels Marie Antoinette for Opera Kelowna

May 15, 2015 - 12:14 PM

KELOWNA - Royals are hot right now and Opera Kelowna is well placed to take advantage of that with its latest fashion show fundraiser.

The aptly-named A Royal Affair will look to royals of the past; think Marie Antoinette and the Chateax de Versailles, long a style icon for modern day fashionistas.

Staged by stylist Jade Wolf, the runway event will feature unique handcrafted pieces from local artisans and boutiques.

Indulgence is the name of the game as guests will be escorted by liveried footmen to the rooftop of the Hotel Eldorado where they will also enjoy a concert, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

A Royal Affair is being staged in support of Opera Kelowna’s international summer opera program in partnership with UBC and the company’s professional mainstage performance of Le Nozze di Figaro.

Tickets for A Royal Affair are available online at www.eventbrite.com, by phone at Opera Kelowna at 250-575-1434 or in person at Bliss Bridal Boutique, 618 Bernard Ave. (Cash or check only).
