33 Street Intersection at 30 Avenue Closed to Traffic Sunday, June 23 to Friday June 28

As part of Vernon’s 30th Avenue Revitalization Project, the 33rd Street intersection at 30th Avenue will be closed to traffic from Sunday, June 23 to Friday June 28th.

Detours will be in effect for the duration of the intersection works and 34th Street will be re-opened to accommodate this closure. West and eastbound traffic is to use 32nd Avenue or 25th Avenue to bypass this closure.

Businesses continue to be open during the construction and they appreciate the public’s support. Vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be re-directed around the construction as necessary.

During construction, the BC Transit stop that is normally located on the South side of the downtown Safeway is re-located to the North side of the downtown Safeway on 35 Street in front of the Discovery Plaza and on the side of Simply Delicious.

All project information is posted on the 30 Avenue Project page on the City of Vernon website at: www.vernon.ca/30ave.

Construction is weather dependant and is slated to be complete in early July. Public inquiries should be directed to the Engineering Department of the City of Vernon by phone at 250-550-3634 or visit the website www.vernon.ca/30ave.
