A luxury Kelowna home that’s listed for almost $6.5 million is going on the auction block next month.

Called the Avanti on Hobson, the home features seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a five-car garage and a pool, sprawling over 10,208 square feet on 0.66 acres.

“The Avanti on Hobson is arguably the best home in Kelowna,” Daniel Lambert of Precision Real Estate Auctions said in a news release. “The home is listed at $6.5 million but would be worth $15 to $20 million in Vancouver or Toronto.”

The auction, from Aug. 16 to 19, is unreserved, meaning there is no low bid.

“It’s truly special, at more than 10,000 square feet, superior craftsmanship and attention to detail went into this magnificent home,” Todd Simpson, a realtor with Royal LePage and former captain of the Calgary Flames said the release.

“Guests will be in awe when greeted by the Bellagio fountain sunk directly into the driveway. They will be mesmerized as they enter into the great room with soaring 22-foot ceilings, and as they choose a vintage bottle from the climate-controlled wine cellar, they can walk through the Nano wall system out into the backyard oasis.”

Other features include a sports court, rec room next to the pool with pool tables, bar, foosball table and large screen TVs.

The home is located at 4383 Hobson Rd. and was valued by B.C. Assessments at $4.5 million a year ago.

Interested bidders have to register and be approved by Precision Real Estate Auctions online.
