SALMON ARM — Emergency crews were called to the scene of a possible shooting at a Salmon Arm church today.

Global News is reporting a senior was killed by a young man this morning at the Church of Christ.

B.C. Emergency Health Services received the call at 10:37 a.m. today, April 14, spokesperson Amy Robertson says on the phone.

Two ambulances and one air unit went to the Salmon Arm Church of Christ.

"There were two patients at the scene," Robertson says, "We transported one and he was transported by air."

The other victim was not transported by ambulance

RCMP spokesman Christopher Manseau says in an email that one male is in custody and the area is contained. There is no active or ongoing threat.

It is unclear if the patient who was taken to hospital by air is the man in custody.
